Dresses are an amazing one and done option. But its easy to overthink styling them and end up not wearing all those great dresses in your closet. Here are 3 tips to simplify dresses:

Shoe choice matters. Opt for an elevated sandal, a white sneaker or a mule in a lighter neutral tone to avoid chopping up the leg line.
A note about flip flops: I grew up in flip flops in Southern California, so I get it. But, flips flops are typically too casual of a choice with a dress and have a tendency to look less intentional. So upgrade to another still comfy but maybe more refined sandal option.
