The Knit dress trend emerged last year and only picked up speed this winter. Summer 2023 is already full of 70s inspired crochet dresses, coverups, bags and even kaftans.
I first saw this dress on Liz - @the New York Stylist and loved it, but felt a little apprehensive about the form fitting silhouette on my curves. So when the Goldie Tees label (who makes this gorgeous knit dress ethically in Peru) reached out, I knew exactly what I wanted to try!
It is surprisingly light and will be great for summer as well as other seasons. The knit stretches making it an easy elegant fit. And with a little shaping short support underneath, I feel surprisingly confident stepping out this dress.

✅Do style them up or down. These dresses are super versatile.
❌Don’t overdo it with other textures. Your dress is heavy on texture already so pair with simple accessories with more subtle textures and minimal prints/colors.
✅Do invest in good shape wear that’s comfortable and will help the dress lay nice and smooth. Definitely a confidence booster with these fitted silhouettes!
❌Don’t buy crochet unless it’s ethically made or secondhand. Unlike knits, crochet can’t be made via machine, so hours of skill and effort go into hand-making. How do you spot the difference? Knits are in tiny V shaped vertical patterns. Crochet is a square shape across - think Granny Squares. A lot gets mislabeled at stores. So if you can’t tell…
✅Do text a pic to your crafty friend or grandma for help! When in doubt, if the deal looks too good to be true, it probably is, and there are laborers getting shortchanged on the other end.
